Abstract
Continuous fiber reinforced ceramic composites (CFCC) consist of brittle ceramic matrix ( ≈ 0.15%) reinforced by relatively ductile ceramic fibers ( ≈ 1.1%), with intentionally weak interfaces. This combination of material properties enhances the ductility of the CFCC in the fiber direction.
