Abstract

Multiphase transportation technology enables to transfer the mixture of crude oil, gas, water and sand in a single pipeline. Compared to the conventional method, it is more efficient since the multi-pipelines are not required.

Multiphase compressor is the key machine in a multiphase transportation system, and the twin screw multiphase compressor/pump has proved to be a suitable machine for this application. This paper investigates the twin screw multiphase compressor, mainly focusing on the rotor profile. The calculating methods for mesh line length and blow hole area between the two rotors are presented. The geometrical characteristics of the rotor profile are also discussed in the paper.
